Dangers Of Hair Loss Products
So, how do you really know that what you are putting into your hair is safe? There are a lot of hair products out on the market right now and they are filled with natural and unnatural ingredients from chemicals to herbs, so how do you really know that what you are applying is safe?
Since hair loss is something very prevalent in today’s society there are many different products out there that promise “amazing results in as little as one week!” The problem is, however, finding out exactly what the repercussions and side effects are of these different products. The dangers of hair loss products are real and the problems are real. Here’s a closer look into the dangers that hair loss products contain:
Stomach problems: This is probably the most common side effect that comes along with hair loss products and is typically found with the oral treatments, not the topical ones. Stomach problems are usually mild, and they usually occur within the first few days of going on the medication because you are giving your stomach something new to digest. Stomach problems usually aren’t anything to get too worried about because they will go away after just a few days. If they persist or grow stronger, see a doctor immediately.
Discolored hair: Some of the topical hair loss remedies on the market run the risk of discoloring the hair that you do have. This could happen due to using the product too heavily or even just using the approved dosages. If this happens to be your case, get off the medication immediately so that the effects are more easily reversed (unless you like the new color!).
Increased hair loss: While hair loss products try to increase the growth of new and old hair cells, sometimes they take the opposite role! It’s true, sometimes certain hair loss products don’t mix well with certain people and they lose hair instead of gain it!
Scalp irritation: If you have sensitive skin and you want to use a hair loss product then you are opening yourself up for the chance of skin irritation. This usually isn’t anything to get too concerned about unless it is extremely painful. However, you should get off the medication right away if you experience any irritation.
Redness: Redness is an issue that comes up often with different hair loss products because certain products just don’t mix with certain people. Be careful with continuing with products that turn your scalp red because they are potentially hazardous.
While these side effects are not that common, they are possible so you should take all the precautions available.
